What To Do When You Feel Unmotivated?

So, you finally sit down and write down your goals and feel super excited about them. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

You watched a few motivation videos and read a few blog posts from people who made it and felt fired up. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

Then, you saw someone crushing it on social media and promised yourself to finally do it, too. ⁣⁣⁣⁣Because if they can, so can you and there is nothing there to stop you.

⁣⁣⁣⁣

But then another day arrived, and your motivation is nowhere to be found, so you delay your goals and working for the life that you want until ⁣⁣⁣you feel motivated enough again.

Can you recognize this person?⁣⁣⁣⁣ This person is you and everyone else around you, battling life and lack of motivation.

⁣⁣

It keeps happening, and it's exhausting, I know. When you're ready to strike, motivation is nowhere to be found, and you continue not reaching your dreams. You're tired of it, I'm tired of it, I know that.

So, what can you do, to finally leave this eternal torture and get your motivation back? There is one secret I have that I want to share with you today. It will change your life. I promise you that.

Let's jump in.

One Thing You Need To Do To Get Your Motivation Back

There is only one thing that will help you get your motivation back and always have it when you need it. And it's not a very difficult thing to do. ⁣

You need to get crystal clear on your WHY behind your desires.⁣

Yes, that is my secret to always having the motivation to keep moving and keep achieving in life. Sound simple, right? It is, but somehow people find it difficult to understand their WHY.

You would like to start a business. You would like to get in shape. You would like to have a better relationship. ⁣⁣⁣⁣You would like to be a millionaire.

⁣⁣⁣⁣

Surely, that's lovely but… what is your WHY? ⁣⁣⁣⁣Why do you want to be successful, why do you want to have a lot of money and why do you want to look like a Victoria Secret model?

All people have many desires and dreams. And 99% of people never reach any of those dreams because they don't want them enough or for the right reasons.

Imagine, you have a dream of being a successful writer and published author just because. It looks fun, and you would like to have the freedom to write about anything you want as it looks so easy, right?

So many people think that they want to be writers because it's cool, but they never find a reason to sit down and actually write because they don't have a strong WHY. And this is only one of the examples.

Let me share my personal story on figuring out my WHY.

⁣⁣⁣⁣

I remember sitting on the beach in Tenerife, where I lived back in the day and writing in my notebook:⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

"I want to have my own business."⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

I knew this statement isn't strong enough. So I followed with "WHY?" and then wrote down:

⁣⁣⁣⁣

"Because I want to have a higher purpose and meaning in life as well as be able to plan my own time and be able to travel when I want". ⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

Better, but still not there. So I followed again by "WHY," and my answer was:

⁣⁣⁣⁣

"Because I feel unfulfilled, and I know I have the potential to do so much more in life. I also feel really lonely, and I miss my family truly. I want to be able to fly and see them whenever I want."⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

I could have followed with more WHYs, but the answer was already in front of my eyes. I want fulfillment in life & family connection. I didn't just want to be a business owner. I wanted what having a business could provide me. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣

Not one day after this "exercise", I ever felt a lack of motivation until this day. This is why I keep going and working on my dreams. I have my strong WHY.

How can you find your WHY and never lack motivation ever again

So, because you're still reading this blog post, I assume you want to find your WHY because you're tired of failing and never meeting your goals, right?

Well, let me help you do just that.

I recommend you make time in your schedule to spend time with yourself, thinking, and imagining how you want your life to look like. It doesn't have to be only about your work or business, include all the other aspects of your life as well. It has to be a whole picture.

It's important that you dig deep into yourself and find things that you truly want for your life, not what you think would be good or what other people would want to see from you.

It's easy to find WHY's that are vain. Like if you want to have your own business, your WHY might be because you want to make a lot of money. But this WHY is not strong enough as there are so many other things that can make you a lot of money.

You can go get a corporate job that pays six figures and offers bonuses, and you can go rob a bank (which I don't recommend you do as it might be short-lived happiness). Both these options are easier than starting your own business and keeping it running for many years to make you a lot of money.

So you see, you need to do the work, dig very deep and find that real, true WHY that is rock solid and won't change no matter what life throws at you.

Final thoughts

⁣⁣⁣⁣

My final advice for you - don't just write goals. Write your WHYs. Dive deep into true understanding WHY you want things. Ask WHY 7 or 8 times until you fully reach your honest answer. But it will become your strongest, most consistent motivation source you could ever possibly ask for.
